Loretta Bonus - Landscape Artist Portfolio
Loretta Bonus was born and raised in Colorado. After university, she moved to California and continued to participate in adult art classes over many years, Her primary focus is now painting. She has been influenced by the beauty of the mountains, vast valleys and meadows, mesas, deserts, rivers and lakes, the ocean and the diversity of the people and cultures of the Southwestern United States.
Her work expresses her sense of awe and inner peace resulting from nature's power and beauty in a generally abstract format. The abstract form she uses strongly suggests her subject, but is not exactly realistic in color or form. This format provides a viewer freedom to insert themself into or imagine a backstory to the painting.
Her work has been shown in 13 juried, regional shows in San Diego, California, 1 in Costa Mesa, California, and 1 in Carlsbad, California during 2022 to 2025. 32 of her paintings have been juried into 18 international art competitions during 2023 to 2025. 14 of these paintings earned Honorable Mention awards. She has had 2 solo show at Art on 30th: one in May, 2024 and one in August to September, 2025.
She was recently selected as a featured artist in "101 Artbook - Abstract Edition 2025, published by Art to Hearts Project in June, 2025.
