This was inspired by my hikes and travels through Southwestern United States desert areas.
An abstract in which the viewer feels as they are emerging from an overhanging rock to see soaring formations in light and shadow jutting from the desert floor. Sand adds texture and underlying paper provides contrast and interest in this painting done in browns and ochres with bits of green.
This view feels uplifting while serene.
